Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 15, 2026
Emori LLC ("Emori", "we", "us") operates the Emori mobile app and the website at app.emori.co. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: your name and email address when you register. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from those providers.
- Content you upload: photos, videos, and text messages you attach to your unique codes. This content is stored securely and is only accessible to people you share your code with.
- Payment information: billing is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number — only the last four digits and card brand for your records. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Usage data: code view counts, device type, and app activity used to improve the service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and deliver the Emori service.
- To send transactional emails (password reset, account activation, content report notifications).
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To improve the app based on usage patterns.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Emori (Cloudflare R2 for storage, Stripe for billing, Resend for email). These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.
4. How Users Share Content
Emori content is private by default but can be viewed by anyone who has the unique code or link shared by the account owner. You are responsible for deciding who receives your codes. Anyone who can read the code on your gift, card, or keepsake can view the content attached to it.
5. Content Moderation and Safety
We may review, remove, or restrict access to content that is reported to us or that we believe violates our policies, applicable law, or the safety of other users. Reports can be submitted from any public code viewer page, or by emailing support@emori.co.
6. User Controls
You can manage your data directly from the Emori app:
- Delete a code: open the code in My Codes and tap Delete. The viewer page becomes inaccessible immediately.
- Delete individual photos or videos: open the code and remove media items individually.
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated content.
7. Your Content
You own the content you upload. Emori stores it only to provide the service. You can delete your content or your account at any time from the app.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account in-app, your content and personal information are permanently removed; in rare cases (legal hold, fraud investigation), limited records may be retained for up to 30 days.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user data, including encrypted storage, access controls, and HTTPS-only communication. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information from unauthorized access.
10. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, email privacy@emori.co. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
11. Children's Privacy
Emori is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@emori.co and we will remove it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at app.emori.co/privacy with an updated effective date. Continued use of Emori after changes means you accept the updated policy.
